Brian, don,t get ripped off any more than you have to,you should be looking to get stung for about £20-£25 now instead of the previous £50 upwards rip off.A lot of companies are still charging the higher prices and some are not doing the lateral flow tests,so demand is going to be high;as it is still a requirement for the PLF.As the UK Gov are not regulating this farce,it is a free for all for these companies to do what they like.

Hello Stinky, thanyou for the heads-up. It was the PCR test I had looked at. Just for info they are saying that they are currently out of stock of the Lateral Flow Antigen kit.

Did you have any problems taking a photo of the result and send it ?

Hi Brian 14, I am not going back to Blighty ’till 3rd Nov, but my daughter went back yesterday courtesy of a 9 euro Ryan Air ticket. I will talk to her tomorrow about the photo and let you know.

Hi Brian 14. Spoke to my daughter about the test, she had to pay for PCR as she went back on 23rd (just one day early!)
She says the lateral flow kits have full instructions on how to do the photograph.
    Uploading photographs on my phone!
    That should be a giggle.
I am such a non techy, I have this mental picture of a Vietnamese fisherman on face book receiving a blurred photo of me grinning with a neg test result wand.
That should mess with his mind, the ultimate wrong number.
    Good luck B.

arrived back in france yesterday after a 15 day stay in the Uk

we use express-medical.co.uk, cost £28.00 (each) for a PCR test ,which we duly did on day 2 and sent back via the prepaid royal mail envelope

over 2 weeks later and still no results !, they are a bunch of rip off merchants, still it satisfied the UK form, so that is all that counts (we did home lateral flow tests anyway, just to be sure)

was not surprised by the text from BF earlier this week before return saying that france has put the UK on the amber travel list, and is not accepting UK proof of vaccine, so for those coming from the uk a PCR test less than 24 hrs old is now required.

did not affect us as we were vaccinated in france, and sailed through at Caen with no problems

Not sure that this info regarding entering France is correct,as far as i am aware it is only unvaccinated people who would need a PCR test before travel to France, also haven,t heard anything about not accepting proof of UK vaccination,UK has been on amber list for some time now.You did well though getting your PCR arrival test kit for £28,we got ripped off for £55 each.

    Topcat

it was a text earlier this week from BF that stated that NHS proof of vaccine was not accepted, and a 24hr PCR test would be required, but I understand (but could be wrong), that the EU as a whole accepted NHS proof from today. so if that is the case no test will be required on entry as long as you have the proof of vaccination.

28 quid test seems cheap, but the company has now been struck off gov’t list and (I understand) is being investigated. still it got me into the UK, and that was all that mattered. we were in the west of England, and there have been horrendous issues with a lab that processes tests, sending back negative tests which were wrong, in fact the lab (somewhere in the midlands) was shut down

we did lateral flow tests which our daughter had obtained FOC, just to be re-assured as mask wearing in the UK seemed to be non existent, and the 4 local council areas between them had a higher infection rate than the whole of france

    Just for the record…..

We arrived back in Brittany today (Thursday). Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo overnight.

At check in we showed the required “Sworn statement”, our NHS proof of vaccinations and Passport. All were accepted. At St Malo this morning the lady in the Customs booth scanned the vaccination QR code and stamped the passports. No problems. Her only question was where do you live ?  answer “the UK”.

I know the EU now accept UK proof of vaccination but there were never any doubts raised earlier or alerts to the contrary from Brittany Ferries.  The ferry, the Armorique was well loaded with cars, many more French number plates than recently and lots on right hand drive vehicles.

I paid 39 pounds for my PCR test which duly arrived on Day 2 but then I couldn’t register it with ‘Dante’ despite email requests to the company so I didn’t bother doing it and brought it home. It’s still in the bottom of my suitcase.

One of the Tories has my money so they don’t care.
